P-Max Grant

P-MAX IS A PLACE-AND-TRAIN PROGRAMME AIMS TO ASSIST SMES TO BETTER COPE WITH THE CHALLENGES OF PME TALENT RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION IN AN INCREASINGLY TIGHT LABOUR MARKET.

Eligible* SMEs which successfully retain their newly-hired PMEs and complete the follow-up sessions for a period of 6 months upon the workshops completion, will be awarded with a one-off S$5,000 Assistance Grant.

*SME has not received the one-off S$5000 Assistance Grant under the previous Max Talent programme.

Supported by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), the P-Max is administered by Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME) to match job-seeking Professionals, Managers and Executives (PMEs) to suitable job positions and/or retain them at small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Should your SME have a newly-hired PME of less than 3 months’ employment service, who is Singaporean or Permanent Resident, ASME invites you to register for this programme with us.

BENEFITS OF P-MAX PROGRAMME:

  • Through this programme, ASME helps to train and retain thousands of PMEs from various SME industry sectors;
  • This programme is designed to support participating SMEs on adopting progressive HR practices and enhance corporate image amongst prospective job-seekers;
  • ASME provides 6-month follow-up consultancy to help the SME Supervisors and PMEs to align the performance expectation with career goals/ aspirations, thereby setting objective KPIs;
  • Participating SMEs which successfully retain their PMEs for 6 months or beyond shall be entitled to a one-off S$5,000 assistance grant;
  • Participating PMEs will be equipped with some professionally designed materials and templates as guide on self-discovery of unique strengths, performance assessment, harmonizing workplace relations with superiors and colleagues, budget management and leadership etc; and
  • Workshops are facilitated and delivered by experienced and reputable trainers who are evaluated and approved by WDA.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF SME:

  • Registered or incorporated in Singapore
  • Be made up of at least 30% Local shareholding
  • Annual sales turnover not more than $100 Million OR Employment size not exceeding 200 workers
  • Have PME job opportunities or hired a PME within the last 3 months (i.e. 90 days) that offer a gross monthly salary of at least S$2,500, prior to programme enrollment

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF PME:

  • Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident (PR)
  • Have at least a diploma or have prior work experience in a PME job
  • Have at least one year of full-time working experience

ACTIONS NEEDED:

  • Send the newly-hired PME to attend a 3-day PME Workshop designed to equip PMEs with HR-related skills that help them acclimatize to SME culture, lift job performance and increase chances of PMEs’ retention at SMEs.
  • Send SME Representative/ Supervisor of the PME to attend a 1-day SME Workshop that helps to acquire better communication, appraisal and leadership skills as part of the progressive HR practices at SMEs.
  • Submit a completed post-workshop Resource Kit at the end of 6 month after the workshops completion, under consultation of ASME P-Max Secretariat.

Projects under Core Capabilities help businesses to prepare for growth and transformation by strengthening their business foundations. These go beyond basic functions such as sales and accounting.

Projects under Innovation and Productivity support companies that are exploring new areas of growth, or looking for ways to enhance efficiency. These include reviewing and redesigning of workflow and processes. Companies can also tap into automation and technology to enhance the efficiency of routine tasks.
Market Access
Projects under Market Access support businesses that are exploring to venture overseas. The EDG can help to defray some of the cost incurred when expanding into overseas markets.

*Note: As of 1 April 2020, all applications for EDG should include commitment to worker outcomes as part of the qualifying requirements. This will include wage increment, job creation, job redesigns or training for existing staff.

WHAT CAN BE SUPPORTED?

Qualifying project cost that is related to software and equipment, third party consultancy and internal manpower can be supported. As announced during the Supplementary Budget 2020, for the period 1 April 2020 to 31 December 2020, the maximum level of support will be enhanced to 80%. For businesses that have been very badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the maximum level of support may even be raised to 90%, depending on a case-by-case review.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

FAQS

Yes, all entities regardless of local or foreign equity, are able to apply for the grant as long as local staff are employed.

Management personnel with names listed on the company’s ACRA Bizfile are not eligible to be included as employees.

Yes, as there is no minimum number of employees required to apply for the grant. The funding will still be available for a single local employee who has adopted FWA.

Based on past experiences, Worklife Grant applications usually need an average of 6 months to receive approvals. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the authorities are working towards expediting the approvals so as to encourage more telecommuting to take place.

Yes, there is no minimum salary required for the employee to be eligible. However, the salary must be of a reasonable rate and is justifiable.

Unfortunately, related entities can only submit one application for a selected company. Entities with common resources such as having the same Directors, sharing a common HR/Finance function, using the same registered address etc, can only submit one application.

Yes, you can start to implement the flexible work arrangements after receiving the approval for the grant application. The Worklife Grant is open to all companies which have either existing flexible work arrangements or are proposing to introduce new ones in the near future.

Yes, we do. We have a long track record of clients who have successfully blended flexible work into their workplace culture through the Worklife Grant.
