Chief Technology Officer-As-A-Service

The newly-launched Chief Technology Officer-as-a-Service (CTOaaS) is yet another initiative under the SMEs Go Digital programme, that is aimed to support local SMEs with their digitalisation plans.

The CTOaaS provides SMEs with a channel to self-assess the digital readiness and needs of their businesses, and offers them full support throughout the digital implementation process.

Key Takeaways for SMEs

  1. Access market-proven and cost-effective digital solutions
  2. Engage with digital consultants for in-depth advisory and project management services
  3. Learn about other SMEs that have successfully digitalised
  4. Receive recommendations of digital solutions based on business needs and profile
  5. Get comparisons of digital solutions by functions and costs.

What CTOaas Offers

SMEs can tap on the CTOaaS for 2 main types of assistance:

Digital Advisory

SMEs can engage consultants from appointed operators to help them assess and identify their digital needs.

  1. Analyse the digital readiness and status of the business
  2. Identify digital gaps for business enhancements
  3. Introduce training roadmaps and recommend suitable digital solutions from over 450 options

Project Management

Upon selecting a suitable solution, SMEs can continue to engage consultants to further assist and manage the entire implementation of the digital project.

Core Capabilities
Projects under Core Capabilities help businesses to prepare for growth and transformation by strengthening their business foundations. These go beyond basic functions such as sales and accounting.
Innovation and Productivity
Projects under Innovation and Productivity support companies that are exploring new areas of growth, or looking for ways to enhance efficiency. These include reviewing and redesigning of workflow and processes. Companies can also tap into automation and technology to enhance the efficiency of routine tasks.
Market Access
Projects under Market Access support businesses that are exploring to venture overseas. The EDG can help to defray some of the cost incurred when expanding into overseas markets.

Payouts will commence from August 2020. IMDA will take about 1 to 2 months for the processing upon submission of the UENs by the solutions providers. The payouts will be credited to your PayNow Corporate account directly and you can check your account to see if the funds have been received.

If your POS system is a qualified solution that is recognized by IMDA, then you will just need to adopt another two solutions ie. Accounting (eg. Xero or ABSS) and HR/Payroll (eg. HR Easily or Payboy), in order to qualify for Category 1 under the DRB. The bonus payout will be $2,500.

If the solutions are under the approved list, and are purchased from the approved vendors, then you are still eligible.
