Energy Efficiency Grant

What is Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG)?

The Energy Efficiency Grant (EEG) is yet another initiative by the government to help businesses improve energy efficiency through co-funding. The Base Tier is now available across all sectors. The grant is aimed to encourage SMEs to adopt energy efficient equipment so as to remain sustainable in their energy consumption.

What is covered?

The EEG offers two tiers of funding:

1. Base Tier

Businesses can receive funding for pre-approved energy-efficient equipment, subject to the following limits:

  • Funding cap: Up to S$30,000 per company.
  • SMEs: Up to 70% support.
  • Non-SMEs: Up to 30% support.
  • Support rates apply until 31 March 2028.

2. Advanced Tier

Eligible companies can receive support for larger investments in energy-efficient equipment.

  • Funding cap: Up to S$350,000 across the Base and Enhanced Tiers.
  • Equipment does not need to be pre-approved but must demonstrate at least 350 tonnes of lifetime carbon abatement.
  • The grant amount is the lower of the applicable Base Tier support level or the amount calculated based on the equipment’s expected lifetime energy savings.
  • The stated support levels apply until 31 March 2027.

What types of equipment are supported?

The Base Tier supports pre-approved energy-efficient equipment. The Advanced Tier supports qualifying equipment that meets the required energy-saving criteria.

The list of supported equipment is available on the GoBusiness Energy Efficiency Grant webpage.
