Changes to the Employment Act and how to avoid falling on the wrong side of the law

From 1 April 2016, all employers have to issue itemized payslips and key employment terms (KETs) to employees covered under the Employment Act.

The payslip should be given to employees at least once a month, together or within 3 working days of payment. It can be hard or soft copy. Even handwritten is acceptable. It should include items such as basic salary, overtime hours, overtime pay, bonuses, transport and other allowances, the employee’s and employer’s CPF contributions, as well as deductions for damaged goods.
